DNV Report - Technology Readiness Level 8-9

The Cognitive Cleaning with Fouling Fracturing technology developed by Angara can be considered innovative and is an attractive alternative for refineries to the currently used conventional methods to clean heat exchanging equipment.

The Fouling Fracturing technology is very well able to clean heat exchanging equipment, has multiple clear advantages over traditional cleaning methods, is safe for equipment and does not pose significant HSSE risks. Combined with Cognitive Cleaning it was proven to result in a large advantage in terms of overall heat exchanger efficiency, resulting in most importantly reduced fuel consumption and therefore reduced CO2 emissions.

The technical claims regarding the Cognitive Cleaning technology were assessed by DNV and 18 out of 19 were appraised to uphold without a risk identified. One of the claims was identified to have a small risk, and no claims were appraised with a medium or high risk.

Technology Readiness Level was rated to be between 8 and 9, as the technology is near ready for definitive launch. Clients as well as a partner have indicated to plan to work with Angara on further projects.
